As we move further into 2024, a year marked by significant advancements in various sectors, the education field stands out as one of the most dynamically evolving. The pandemic, with all its challenges, has become a catalyst for innovation and new possibilities in education.
Continuous updates and improvements driven by
the National Educational Policy (NEP) have set the stage for a brighter future
in education. At the forefront of this transformation is LIT SKILLS Learning,
an organization founded by the visionary Dr. Kartik Narayanan. By leveraging
technology, LIT SKILLS addresses the needs of both teachers and students,
providing global opportunities that are reshaping the educational landscape.
LIT SKILLS Learning is dedicated to
transforming classroom teaching by empowering teachers and engaging students.
Dr. Kartik Narayanan, the multi-award-winning Founder and CEO, holds a Ph.D.
from Waterloo University. Mentored by luminaries such as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
and Dr. Veerendra Heggade, Dr. Narayanan exemplifies perseverance and an
indomitable spirit. These qualities have propelled LIT SKILLS to the pinnacle
of educational innovation.
While many EdTech companies face challenges,
LIT SKILLS Learning is expanding, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. They
have introduced a new two-week Teacher Training Program aligned with NEP 2020.
These programs are designed to be game-changers for Indian education.
Since August 2022, LIT SKILLS has partnered
with the Governments of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for pilot projects in English
and Science for students in grades 3 to 7. For teachers, the organization
offers programs that enhance skills such as capacity building and motivational
techniques.
LIT SKILLS is also collaborating with reputed
colleges and universities across North & North East India. They are in
discussions with institutions like Galgotias University and PES University to
launch programs for engineering graduates, focusing on interview preparation
and employability.
Dr. Kartik Narayanan highlights the disparity
in employment among engineering graduates, "India produces over 8 million
engineering graduates each year, but only 3% secure quality tech jobs. With
changing trends, core skills are now crucial for success."
LIT SKILLS is also in talks with the
Governments of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and Uttar Pradesh to implement
their flagship “Project English.” By the end of 2024, they aim to add over
1,000 schools to their network, moving closer to their goal of providing
effective, affordable educational tools to enhance 21st-century skills. Lit
Skills is already serving close to 1900 Schools in Telangana from 2019 for
Teachers Training Program and Community Outreach Projects for Students
Flagship Project for Class 10 and 12 Students
In a remarkable achievement, 4,900 students
from rural government schools in Tamil Nadu have passed their Class 10 and 12
board exams with first-class marks. These students, who had never been exposed
to the world of coaching, benefitted from a flagship project initiated by Dr.
Karthik Narayanan's LIT SKILLS Learning. Launched in 2021, this initiative aims
to prepare students to face exams without fear and achieve high scores.
Remarkably, this program is completely free of cost and has already benefitted
10,000 students over the past four years.
Karnataka Government's Thrust on English
Learning
The Karnataka education department is
launching Project English to enhance competitiveness among government school
students. Partnering with Lit Skills Learning, a pilot project will benefit 120
students from grades 6-8 and 30 teachers from grades 5-9 in the KRS cluster of
Srirangapatna taluk for the 2022-23 academic year. This initiative aims to
bridge the gap between government and private school students, building their
confidence and proficiency in English.
Dr. Kartik Narayanan, leading the project,
emphasizes the focus on innovative teaching methodologies, capacity building,
life skills, and communicative skills. The project has garnered support from
notable figures like scientist and Padma Bhushan awardee Nambi Narayanan, who
believes in the project's potential to make rural students globally
competitive.
Empowering 21st Century Learners
Lit Skills Learning recently launched “Project
English” and partnered with the Government of Telangana's Board of Higher &
Intermediate Education to implement Teacher Training and Student Enrichment
Programs. Dr. Karthik Narayanan, in conversation with Elets News Network,
expressed his passion for creating schools that motivate, engage, and empower
learners for the future. His vision is to provide an accessible and affordable
platform for developing English language skills, particularly in rural areas.
At the 15th World Education Summit - 2019, LIT
SKILLS introduced “Project English,” aiming to bring state-of-the-art learning
to Tier 3 and Tier 4 sectors of India. The organization’s mission is to ensure
every child in India can read, write, and speak excellent English.
Through innovative strategic plans, LIT SKILLS
is set to lead schools into a future of enhanced educational opportunities and
21st-century skills development.
