Chaitanya Reddy Calls for Implementation of HYDRA System in Andhra Pradesh
New Delhi, Andhra Pradesh,
September 03, 2024: In response to the ongoing crisis in Andhra Pradesh
due to cyclone and heavy rains, the All India Kissan Congress has appointed
Sathi Krishna Chaitanya Reddy as the Flood Relief Coordinator for the state.
The appointment was made by
Akhilesh Shukla, Vice Chairman of the All India Kissan Congress, on the
directive of the Hon'ble Chairman Shri Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
In the appointment letter, Akhilesh Shukla expressed deep sadness over the crisis faced by
the state and emphasized the urgent need for coordinated relief efforts. He
stated, "I am appointing you as the Flood Relief Coordinator in Andhra
Pradesh responsible for overseeing flood relief efforts."
As the Flood Relief
Coordinator, Krishna Chaitanya Reddy's key responsibilities will include:
1. Flood Relief Management:
Coordinate and monitor relief efforts, ensuring timely assistance reaches the
affected people.
2. Legal Support: Address
legal challenges faced by flood victims and provide necessary support.
3. Party Representation:
Uphold the party's values while leading these critical initiatives.
Akhilesh Shukla expressed trust in Reddy's
leadership qualities, stating that they will significantly impact the ongoing
challenge. The All India Kissan Congress is committed to standing with the
people of Andhra Pradesh during this difficult time.
In the wake of the
devastating floods affecting Andhra Pradesh, Chaitanya Reddy, who serves as the
National Joint Coordinator of the Kissan Congress, has been entrusted with the
responsibility of overseeing and coordinating the flood relief efforts across
the affected regions, particularly in Vijayawada City and the surrounding areas
along the Krishna River.
According to Reddy, the
floods caused by the recent cyclone and heavy rains have caused immense damage,
with many areas submerged in 4-5 feet of water. "The situation is
critical, and the people are in dire need of basic necessities like drinking
water, food, medicine, and power," he said. "The state government is
doing something, but it is not enough to restore normalcy."
Chaitanya Reddy has urged
the Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, to act
swiftly and effectively in addressing the plight of the flood victims. He has
also demanded that the government assess the losses of crops and cattle and
provide appropriate compensation to the affected farmers.
Furthermore, Chaitanya Reddy
has called for the implementation of the HYDRA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and
Assets Monitoring and Protection) system in Andhra Pradesh, similar to the one
in Telangana. This system aims to protect government lands, ponds, and nalas
from encroachment, and provide a wide range of services to the citizens in
accordance with the fast expansion of the city.
"This is a time for all
political parties to come together and prioritize the well-being of the
people," said Reddy. "We must rise above partisan politics and work
towards restoring normalcy and ensuring the safety and security of the affected
communities."
The All India Kissan
Congress has assured its full support and commitment to the flood relief
efforts in Andhra Pradesh, and it has urged the state government to act with
urgency and compassion to alleviate the suffering of the people.
