MMR region, including Mumbai, will now get uninterrupted power

Mumbai :  For the economic and all-round development of Maharashtra, the work of infrastructure projects is going on at a great pace by the present state government. The state government has completed ambitious projects like Metro projects, Atal Setu, Coastal Road etc. in record time and put them in the service of the people. The list of important infrastructure projects has now included the MUML i.e. Mumbai Energy Road Project. The project, which will play a lion's share in ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the entire MMR region, including Mumbai, is nearing completion. The state government has presented yet another fine example of its dynamic governance by completing this ambitious project, which will be a gamechanger for the entire MMR region, including Mumbai, in record time.

Weekly review from CM DCM through the War Room...

A war room has been set up under the guidance of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to expedite the completion of the necessary projects for the overall and economic development of the entire Maharashtra, including Mumbai, MMR. It was monitoring MUML in weekly as well as monthly phases along with other important infrastructure projects going on in Maharashtra. And there was a personal review from both of them to ensure that the project was completed on time. The state government has accelerated this important power transmission project from the announcement of the Central Electricity Authority in 2022. As a result, the project was able to reach completion within 16 months of the policy's announcement. In several meetings held in this regard, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis resolved various complex problems, many technical problems in a very short time.

Gamechanger infrastructure project completed in record time...

The 90-km-long Padgha Panvel transmission power project, completed in a very short span of time, is another example of the Maharashtra government's dynamic governance. The foundation stone for the project was laid by the central government recognizing the future power needs of the rapidly developing MMR region in and around Mumbai, the financial capital of the country. And due to the state government's policy system without delay, the work of this 90 km long Padgha - Panvel Power Transmission Corridor could be completed in a record time. It will be inaugurated in the next few days.

Triple the compensation for project victims...

Not only this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recognized the need and importance of this gamechanger project and increased the compensation given by the Maharashtra government by three times more than before. The state government took a decision for this in the cabinet meeting and implemented it immediately accordingly. As a result, the farmers whose land or other concerned land owners were to be worked on the power plant agreed to it without any opposition. And the state government's zero-dependency policy helped in completing this ambitious power plant in record time.

Indicative of the vision and will of the state government...

This is a reflection of the vision and will of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to complete the construction of mega infrastructure projects at the earliest. The state government successfully tackled many challenges, including right of way and land acquisition, through its war room and positive thinking. And this 90 km long critical infrastructure project has been completed in just 16 months due to monitoring and tireless efforts of these two top leaders. The chief minister and deputy chief minister included the gamechanger Mumbai Energy Road project in the list of projects to be monitored by the war room as per the central electricity authority's policy. And everything that was needed to make it come to fruition was met. These included very important factors such as land compensation, which is a very complex and time-consuming process, building a tower without harming nature, etc. As a result of this, this important project has stood up to serve the state in a very short span of time.

2,000 MW of power available through inter-state transmission network...

An inter-state transmission network (IST) was set up for uninterrupted power supply through this power plant. As a result, 2,000 MW of additional power is now available for Mumbai and MMR regions. The ambitious project will also strengthen the transmission network of existing power supply for the region. Of these, 24 × 7 affordable and green energies will also be available for Maharashtra through the Mumbai Energy Road Project. And being green energy, it will be available at lower rates than before, saving consumers a lot of money. It is from all these highlights that the Maharashtra government's vision and bold work in the public interest is evident.
